Hello!
My name is Mindy, the creator of “Momma, You Got This Fitness.” I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have a vivacious daughter and 2 high energy boys! My husband and I both attended Texas Tech University where I graduated with my degree in Human Sciences. I wore many hats after college working as a pre-kindergarten teacher to a foster care social worker, to an assistant director of a preschool. I have gotten to experience both worlds as a working mom and a stay at home mom and they are both wonderful and challenging in their own ways. After my first son was born, I became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and Pronatal Fitness Professional, specializing in prenatal and postpartum fitness. My passion is to combine faith and fitness for the every day mom, no matter what stage of motherhood she is in! Whether you are pregnant, newly postpartum, or have been a mom for years and desperately need a change, I am here to equip you in the best way possible! There is a lot of confusion in the fitness world, and as moms, we do not have the time to try to figure this out on our own. This is where I come in!
The heart behind Momma You Got This Fitness is to serve moms by improving overall health, grow and deepen their walk with Jesus, and live in community with other moms. When I became a mom in 2017, it rocked my world and I was ill prepared. I was working out but not in a way that was showing any type of results, I was not eating foods that were nourishing my body in the way I needed, my marriage was okay but not great, my walk with the Lord was only pursued when convenient for me and I was terrible and awkward about finding community with other moms. On top of all of that, I had zero knowledge on what my body really needed in pregnancy and postpartum. I was so frustrated with my body postpartum and confused as to what was happening with it that it caused me to not feel grateful for what my body had accomplished with pregnancy and delivery, but resentful. Pair these poor habits with post-partum depression and anxiety and I had a recipe for disaster! I absolutely had moments of sweetness in my life, but overall, it was just that – only moments here and there of joy but overall feelings of darkness and defeat. I decided after I had my second baby in 2019 that enough was enough. I started getting serious with being smarter about fitness, making healthier habits with nutrition, and being bold in pursuing true friendships with other moms who pointed me to Jesus. After receiving my initial personal training certification, I was hungry for more in how I could help moms navigate fitness during pregnancy and postpartum. I received my specialization through Pronatal Fitness and was blown away at how little healing I had done physically for my body postpartum and how ill prepared I was for labor. I was able to apply what I had learned for my 3rd pregnancy and the experience was completely different! I was finally able to be grateful for my body and love it well through proper recovery and fitness. It was amazing how much more joyful I was, how confident and strong I felt physically, and able to see and appreciate the good graces of God in where He had me in this season of motherhood.
Faith. Fitness. Community. That is what got me to not just scraping by in life, but actual flourishing! This is what I want for YOU!
